That’s the glorious connector — a single word that genuinely belongs to all four categories at once. It’s part of every correct group, so each group you submit includes it.

Four groups of three would be 12 tiles, but the connector is shared by all four — so it’s a single tile counted four times. That leaves 8 unique words plus 1 connector = 9 tiles.

Its three tiles lock in place in that category’s colour, and the glorious link slides to the centre and splits into the colours of every category you’ve found so far.
